Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Stew mobile application and website at stewplanner.com, operated by Roy Sheppard (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using Stew, you agree to these terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have the permission of a parent or guardian to use Stew. Children under 13 may only be added to a family account as a managed child profile by a parent or guardian. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@stewplanner.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
You may only hold one personal account. Creating duplicate accounts to circumvent restrictions is not permitted.
3. Family sharing
Stew allows you to create or join a family group to share recipes, meal plans and shopping lists. Family admins may set roles and permissions for members, including limiting what actions members can take within the app.
You are responsible for the content you add to a shared family. By adding content to a family, you grant other family members the right to view, use and benefit from it within the app.
If you are a family admin, you are responsible for managing membership and ensuring that anyone you invite is made aware of these terms.
4. User-generated content
You retain ownership of recipes and other content you create in Stew. By uploading or entering content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and display that content to you and your family members for the purpose of operating the service.
You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights, is not unlawful, and does not contain harmful or offensive material.
5. Recipe import and third-party links
Stew allows you to import recipes by providing a URL to a third-party website. This feature extracts publicly visible recipe information for your personal use. You are responsible for ensuring your use of imported content complies with the source website's own terms and copyright. We do not endorse or take responsibility for third-party content.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Stew to:
- violate any applicable law or regulation
- infringe the intellectual property rights of others
- upload or share harmful, offensive, or unlawful content
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' data
- use automated tools to scrape, crawl or abuse the service
- impersonate another person or entity
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.
7. Intellectual property
The Stew name, logo, mascot, design and software are the intellectual property of Roy Sheppard. Nothing in these terms grants you any right to use our branding or intellectual property outside of the normal use of the app.
8. Service availability
We aim to keep Stew available and working well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance, updates or circumstances outside our control.
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features, or to close the service entirely, with reasonable notice where practical.
9. Disclaimers
Stew is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted or that any data will be preserved without loss.
Recipe and nutrition information in Stew is provided by users and has not been independently verified. Do not rely on it for medical, dietary or allergen advice.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Roy Sheppard shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use Stew, including loss of data, loss of revenue or loss of goodwill.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.
11. Termination and account deletion
You may delete your account at any time from within the app: Settings → Your Account → Delete Account. On deletion, your personal data and content will be permanently removed within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, with or without prior notice, depending on the severity of the breach.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice in the app. Your continued use of Stew after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.
